Usage: To Display Menu: press left mouse button while cursor is over File menu bar item. Notes: File menu currently consists of two menu items in standalone mode, and one (Exit) in applet mode.

Usage: To Select a Scene: Double-click the desired scene directory entry in the Folders list. A list of files will appear in the Files list. Single-click the desired file in the Files list. This will typically be the file ending with "_hull.ser". Click the OK button. To Abort Scene Selection: click the Cancel button. The Geometry Select dialog will disappear, and the current scene will remain active. Notes: The Geometry Select menu item does not appear when running CM Surveyor as an applet because the scene to be viewed is determined by the web page selected.

Usage: To Save Current Settings: click the Save menu item. To Restore Current Settings: click the Restore menu item. To Delete Previously-Saved Settings: click the Delete menu item. Notes: Menubar settings are saved in a zipped Properties file. Each scene may have its own custom set of saved menubar settings. These settings are automatically restored when the scene is first loaded, and thus serve as scene initialization parameters. The settings saved in the Properties file depend on the type of scene being displayed. For CM (Compartmentalized Model) external scenes, all menubar settings are saved except for the Personal-Height and View-Visibility settings. For CM internal (compartment) scenes, only Personal-Posture, View-Field of View and View-Clip Ratio settings are saved; all other settings are retained when a compartment scene is loaded or Restored. (Note: Because CM capability is not yet complete, only external scene initialization is currently operational.) For the Save and Restore options, a Message Window will be displayed giving the completion status of the operation. Errors during a Restore operation, including attempting to restore menubar settings before thay are saved (i.e., no Properties file exists for the scene) are not reported; the current settings simply are not changed. The Settings Menu is only available when CM Surveyor is run standalone, but not when it is run as an applet. Security considerations preclude applets from writing to files, thus negating the Save and Delete operations. The Restore operation will be performed automatically when the applet is loaded if a Properties file exists for the scene.
